The children of Victoria Road school took part in a sponsored walk to raise money to provide the materials to build a secure, fenced compound for their Forest School activities which are run weekly by the charity Isle of Play.
The Rotary Club of Rushen and Western Mann provided the labour required to build the facility over the school Christmas break. Thanks to Ross Cain who drilled the holes for the fence posts.
Mrs Johnstone, the Headteacher said having the Forest School at Victoria Road school is very important to us as we know how vital play is to our children, and the skills and learning that can be gained from this experience. A huge thank you to the Rotary Club for building the fence to allow us to play safely and to protect our beloved building projects, both now, and in the future, for all the children at Victoria Road School.
